Primary Turn Your Hearts Program

*NEW Nov 16, 2005*

Contributed by Dawn Bushman
The Turn Your Hearts Primary Program is a workbook and accompanying CD produced by the Tempe Stake Primary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is an effort to teach and inspire children of various ages to seek and record information pertaining to their fathers. Thank you Dawn and all those that helped with this program.

The link below will take you to Dawn's website where you can download both the workbook and the CD.
The files are in PDF format so you will need to download the Adobe Reader from the link below if you do not already have that program.

Interview Questions

I had often asked my parents about their childhood or memories. I usually get the brief version. If my children ask their grandparents, they get the extended version that often leads to great discoveries. Arm you children with some questions for their grandparents and make sure the tape recorder is going. Kids will love to hear what games grandma played when she was their age or what their pets were like.

Activity Day Ideas

*NEW Jan 24, 2004*

Have the children color a preprinted Family Tree design with colored pencil. They would bring a four generation pedigree with them and fill in the names of their ancestors. This could be framed or matted for them to hang on their walls.

Have an Ancestor Party. Each child would dress as an ancestor would have when they were a child. They would bring a story about their ancestor, a game they might have played, a song that was popular when their ancestor was growing up, etc to share with the group. An ancestor of a primary child could be a pilgrim, a pioneer, or a regular kid growing up in the 50's. This can help children to know their ancestors better and hopefully develop an interest in finding out more about them.
